SurfSecret Personal Firewall is a simple, yet limited firewall based on surfing security. It has a plethora of features associated with a very small range of programs. This is where it ends in its usefulness. While it does provide some decent firewall capabilities, it lacks in the features we look for in a top product.

Feature Set:  

SurfSecret Personal Firewall has a very limited feature set. It has a small base of programs that it works well with and a severe lack of customizability. The select options on your management panel provide little room for customization and no advanced features. You can not block or unblock specific ports. It does have options for all the major web browser flavors out there, but anything beyond that is wishful thinking.

Ease of Use:  

SurfSecret Personal Firewall is simple to use. Just install the program and let the firewall do all the work.

Ease of Installation:  

SurfSecret Personal Firewall was simple to install.

Reliability:  

SurfSecret Personal Firewall performed well in all of our test categories except for the browser test. SurfSecret failed to keep our computer information private online. If someone wanted to, they could easily find out what type of computer connection we use to surf as well as identify the last website we've visited.

Help/Support:  

With SurfSecret Personal Firewall you have two choices for support. The online support options are limited to a web form that changes to email support after being completed. The help features are limited, but still up to date.

Summary:  

SurfSecret Personal Firewall passed most of our tests and is simple to use. While it lacks  additional features common in most firewall software and the control options are severely limited, it does block what it is supposed to. This makes it at least worth a look if you are trying to find a simple firewall that matches the way you work.
